A Week in Portugal
If you love sangria, book a flight to Portugal. Trust me.
Portugal won my heart over… and not just because of the sangria! My friends and I visited Lisbon and Sintra, Portugal in July 2019. Portugal is such a beautiful country with an enormous historical background, great night life, insanely delicious food, and instagrammable photo ops.
Things To Do: Lisbon, Portugal
Miradouro Portas do Sol, Miradouro da Senhora do Monte/Graça, and other miradouros are common throughout Portugal. They are great places to overlook the cities while grabbing a drink or having lunch!
Torre de Belém- we didn't walk to or take a tour of this tower, we actually saw it from our sunset sail. However, there are a lot reviews to visit!
Castelo de São Jorge- this historic castle shows a beautiful overlook of the city and has peacocks frolicking all over the estate
Sunset sail- we did this our first night in Lisbon and it was amazing! We were able to see the land by boat before we did by foot
Livraria Ler Devagar- a popular bookstore in LX Factory known for the famous flying bicycle that hangs from the ceiling
Praça do Comércio- we lime scootered our way over to this monument and had dinner and dessert from nearby. It also is near the Tagus River so it is a nice place for relaxing day or night!
Just walk around!! We only scheduled something to do once a day and explored the rest of the time. It was really nice because we got to see the city but still hit all of our top places that was on our list!
Things to Do: Sintra, Portugal
Pena Palace- gorgeous, colorful palace that sits on the top of the city. go inside!!! paying the extra couple $$$ to go inside and soak in the beauty was worth it!
Moorish Castle- this castle sits by Pena Palace and some might say it looks like the Great Wall of China…. I definitely fooled some people by saying I was in Portugal one day and China the next lol!
Places to Eat/Drink:
A Praça- TRY THEIR SPARKLING SANGRIA!! A MUST. the food was amazing as well. will definitely remember this place forever
Pastelaria Orion- quick little pick me up before we continued on with our adventures
Time Out Market- market with over 20 restaurants and bars with open seating
Lost In- we came here to have an afternoon drink (aka a pitcher of sangria for each of us). we also ordered food as an early dinner and it was super tasty. The views though….you won’t even believe it, so definitely come here when you are in Lisbon!
K Urban Beach Club- club on the beach with decorative lights, has a pool (can’t swim at night though), and really nice vibe. they played Spanish music and pop music most of the time
Where to Stay:
We were ballin on a budget so we stayed in airbnbs and split the cost, but just because I’m ballin on a budget doesn’t mean I’m still not boujee?? Links to inexpensive, but pretty airbnbs and hotels are linked below!
If you ever have the chance to go to Portugal… TAKE IT!! As soon as we got there, we felt like we were home. I can’t wait to go back and explore more of the beautiful places that are there!
Thanks for hosting us Portugal, we love you.
xoxo
